Welcome to CILab

The Computational Intelligence Laboratory (CILab) has been established at the Department of Mathematics of the University of Patras, Greece since 2004. The CILab aims at the advancement of pure and applied research, as well as, education in the fields of computational mathematics, computational intelligence and natural computing.

The main objectives of the CILab evolve around four axes:

  • The investigation and mathematical foundation of methods in computational intelligence and natural computing.
  • The development of innovative methods in these fields.
  • The application of the acquired expertise to address challenging real-life problems in different branches of science and the search of directions of theoretical mathematical results towards applications.
  • The dissemination of knowledge to undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Current research interests of the CILab include:

  • Computational Mathematics and Computational Intelligence.
  • Swarm Intelligence and Evolutionary Algorithms.
  • Nature-Inspired and Quantum Computing.
  • Global Optimization and Neural Networks Training.
  • Reliable Computing and Neural Analysis.
  • Semi-supervised Methods in Computational Intelligence and Mathematical Modeling.
  • Unsupervised and Intelligent Clustering.
  • Computational Intelligence Methods in Time Series Analysis and Forecasting.
  • Computational and Intelligent Cryptography.
  • Nonlinear Dynamics and Biomedical Informatics.
